Wind-Waves in the upper Andaman Sea
No. 6 (66/2026)
----------------------------
The
southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will
strengthen with more rains in the country and isolated heavy to very heavy
rains in the North, the Central, the East and the South regions. People in the
areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may
cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and
lowlands.
The
strengthening wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea from Phuket
northward up to be 2–3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers.
In the lower Andaman Sea from Krabi downward and the upper Gulf, the waves are
expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All
ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in
the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore.
