Subject: Heavy to very heavy rains in Thailand,
Strong Wind-Waves in the upper Andaman Sea

The southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is strengthening with isolated heavy rain mostly in western part of the country and the upper Northeast while isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely in the South (west coast) and the East regions. People in the areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulations that may cause flash flood and overflows, especially along foothills near waterways and lowlands.
The rather strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea up to be 2–3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf, the waves are expected about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boats in the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore.
In addition, low-pressure cell over Gulf of Martaban is expected to intensify during 19 – 22 May 2026 with more rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in the western part of country, the North, the upper Northeast, the East and the South (west coast) regions.
